We are very proud to have won the award for the best place to eat out in West Wales, awarded by ‘Wales the True Taste, a Welsh Assembly Government Initiative. Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the Welsh Food and Drink Industry. It’s an award we have all been striving to achieve and we are so proud of all the team here for all their hard work and efforts to help us get it.
18th September to 19th September
Cwtch, was this year invited to demonstrate at the Abergavenny Food Festival (September 18-19th). The festival now in its 11th year, attracted over 50,000 people with the good weather helping to contribute to the best attended festival so far. Cwtch was asked to cook some of its sample dishes at the Great Welsh Restaurant Tasters - a new event at the festival designed for the festival goers to spend an hour in the company of some of Wales' best restaurants. Top chefs and restaurateurs from across the nation were invited to cook their signature dishes, offer samples of their food and tell inside stories from the restaurant trade. Matt cooked up a delicious menu of Welsh Black Beef Bruchetta, Lamb with crushed new potates, chorizo and broad beans, and he also took up Andy's amazing chocolate brownie cake as a finale to a great demonstration.

Cwtch has confirmed its place as one of the top restaurants in Wales by earning a coveted place in the 2009 Michelin Red Guide. Cwtch was one of just four new Welsh entries in what is considered by many to be the leading guide to restaurants not just in the UK but in much of the world. We're delighted that we have made the grade for such a prestigious guide. It's really rewarding to be recognised in this way and a real pat on the back for the staff.
Enjoy a longer cwtch! The newly added Cwtch Cottage is a stone’s throw away from the restaurant. Our aim has been to create a homely, cosy, warm feel for you to relax and enjoy, but we have thrown in some modern touches to compliment the original features of the cottage. The cottage is let on a self-catering basis and is available for 1 night stays, short breaks or 1 week stays. Click here for more information......
The 2010 edition of The Good Food Guide is out and we're delighted to have been rated the Best within Pembrokeshire.
"From hearty homemade breads to decadent desserts, the food at Cwtch is marked out by honest, unfussy presentation. Chef, Matt Cox cooks with confidence and consistency, and clearly makes top-notch ingredients a priority. The quality shines through in dishes such as asparagus with pea fritters, smoked sewin with marsh samphire and Pembrokeshire new potato salad. This can be followed perhaps by St.Bride's Bay Seabass with sauce vierge or shoulder of spring lamb with puy lentils and red wine sauce. Among the books on the floor to ceiling shelves is an album full of delighted feedback from customers. Staff are young and friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere encourages you to linger, perhaps over rich chocolate torte with blood orange sorbet or lemon posset with homemade shortbread and limoncello liqueur."
